2021 - 2022 Student Officers

Justin Zhao

My name is Justin, and I am currently a senior at Amador Valley High School. I am the current Co-President of RISE, one of the student officers in charge of leading RISE and promoting RISE’s influence. Inspired by those around me, I love to volunteer, and I am excited to see the changes we will bring to our community. I helped organize and participated in RISE projects such as the Sunshine Reading Club. Some of my hobbies include reading and playing the trumpet.

Arthur Yao

My name is Arthur, and I am a senior at Columbus High School. At Rise and Shine, I have been able to gain volunteer experience through our competition math class as well as the Sunshine Reading Club. As the newly elected co-president, I plan to expand volunteer opportunities so others can enjoy the same experiences I did. My hobbies include coding, swimming, and ping pong.

Elizabeth Yang

My name is Elizabeth Yang and I am a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School. I serve as Executive VP who manages the membership and organizes events and projects. I love reading and art. I teach in the read club. I am currently leading a greeting card project to send cards to seniors.

Josh lin

Hello all, my name is Josh and I attend Amador Valley High School as a Freshman. I serve as the VP of Operations, meaning I help to manage the productivity of projects as well as maintaining some of the pages on the Rise website. I enjoy reading, learning new things, and swimming.

Janek Cheng

Hello people! I am a Junior at Cypress Ranch high school. I have been teaching Voluntary reading classes in RISE for over a summer now, while also help as a RISE officer wherever I can. I am an aspersing Artist, animator and 3D modeler. My hobbies include: Drawing, learning about history, animating, and music plus a few things there and there. I look forward to working with everyone and I hope to be of good help.

Raymond Yao

I am a sophomore at Columbus High School. I have served in founding the Rise and Shine Spring and Summer math courses and helped to create the website creation course. Inside of school, I enjoy math, debate, and robotics. My hobbies include reading, coding, and solving Rubik’s Cubes.

Brayden Cho

Hi everyone, My name is Brayden and I am a current high school junior and the VP of marketing for Rise and Shine. My responsibilities include conducting marketing and advertising efforts for both existing and upcoming projects, events,
and classes. My goal is to make Rise and Shine the best it can possibly be.

Leland Chung

Hi everyone, my name is Leland and I am currently a freshman in Pleasanton, CA. As VP of Multimedia, I am responsible for building, updating and maintaining RISE’s online presence and posting information on the RISE website. I have volunteered with Rise since October 2020. Some of my hobbies include swimming, 3D modeling and reading.

Brianna Huang

Hello everyone, my name is Brianna and I am currently an 8th grader at Fallon middle school. As Secretary for Rise and Shine, my responsibilities include recording attendance for officer meetings, recording meeting minutes, and distributing important information to core members about events and opportunities. I am also currently a reading group teacher for 2nd graders, and have been one for over a year now. Some of my hobbies include playing cello, reading, and baking.
