2022 - 2023 Student Officers

Elizabeth Yang

My name is Elizabeth Yang and I am a Senior at Archbishop Mitty High School. I am the current Co-president of Rise and Shine. I organize events and projects in order to create a positive impact. I love reading and art. I have been teaching the reading club since RISE was founded. I am currently leading projects that provide volunteer opportunities to help the local senior citizens.

Raymond Yao

I am Raymond, a Junior at Columbus High School, serving as one of the current Co-presidents at Rise and Shine. I have led multiple classes ranging from different levels of competition math as well as website creation. Outside of RISE, I enjoy participating in extracurricular activities such as robotics, coding, and swimming.

Leland Chung

Hi everyone, my name is Leland and I am currently a sophomore in Pleasanton, CA, and I am the current VP of Operations. I have volunteered with Rise since October 2020. Some of my hobbies include swimming, 3D modeling and reading.

Janek (Zhongbo) Chen

Hello people! I am a Senior at Cypress Ranch high school. I have been teaching Voluntary reading classes in RISE for over a summer now, while also help as a RISE officer wherever I can. I am an aspersing Artist, animator and 3D modeler. My hobbies include: Drawing, learning about history, animating, and music plus a few things there and there. I look forward to working with everyone and I hope to be of good help.

Brayden Cho

I am Brayden, the current VP of Marketing. I am a rising senior from New York and I enjoy reading and playing basketball. I hope to continue working with Rise and uplifting the community.

Brianna Huang

Hello everyone, my name is Brianna, and I am currently a freshman at Dublin High School. I am the VP of Fundraising for RISE, and some of my duties include organizing fundraising records, reaching out to potential sponsors, and keeping records of donations. I have been a reading group teacher for 2nd graders for over 2 years now, and help increase their vocabulary, as well as assist them in thoroughly understanding the reading material. Some of my hobbies include playing cello, reading, and baking.

Angela Zhao

My name is Angela, and I am an 8th grader at Hart Middle School. This year, I am Rise and Shine’s Treasurer. I like drawing and playing games.

Elissa Mickey

Hello everyone, my name is Elissa and I am currently in 8th grade at Richards Middle School. I started off as a teacher for the 1st grade reading group in 2020, and have gone up to the 3rd grade reading group with the same students. I have helped my students comprehend the books and understand their vocabulary better. Some of my hobbies include running, playing soccer, baking, and reading.

Elvin Zhong

My name is Elvin, and I am currently an 8th grader at West Portal Lutheran School. During the 2022-2023 Rise and Shine season, I am serving as project manager where I manage ongoing projects and coordinate volunteers. I am also the reading class teacher for 1st (now 2nd) grade. Some of my hobbies are graphic design and leadership through this organization and my school’s student council. I look forward to working with all the officers and you to make this organization the best it can be.
