Raymond Yao

My name is Raymond Yao, and I am currently a senior at Columbus High School and Executive President at Rise and Shine. Throughout my volunteering and projects, I have led and taught numerous courses involving different aspects of mathematics and computer programming, and my overall involvement in the community has helped me develop the virtues of perseverance, selflessness, and determination. During my last year of high school and officer at Rise, I am striving for a period of growth and education to pass my knowledge down to the future generations

Leland Chung

Hey! My name is Leland, and I’ll be one of your Co-Presidents this year. I’ve been with Rise for 4 years now, and I look forward to grow the organization even further. I’ve volunteered for different projects such as the Reading Classes, Kids Against Hunger, Web Development and more recently, the Scratch Coding course. Rise has opened opportunities to not just myself, but for the greater good of the community, and I’m grateful to be part of this organization. I look forward to working with everyone this year.
 

Brianna Huang

My name is Brianna Huang, and I am a Sophomore at Dublin High School. I am serving as one of the Co-Presidents of Rise and Shine Youth Leadership. I have organized and lead several projects, such as the Shoebox project, Kids Against Hunger, the RISE Music Group, and many more. I have also been a reading group teacher for 1st and 2nd graders since RISE was founded. Some of my hobbies include playing cello, reading, and baking. I look forward to working together with everyone! 
 

Angela Zhao

My name is Angela Zhao and I am 14 years old. I am in the 9th grade
and currently am the executive VP of Rise and Shine. My hobbies
include drawing and listening to music.
 

Elvin Zhong

Hello everyone! My name is Elvin, and I am an incoming freshman at Summit Shasta High School. During the 2023-2024 Rise and Shine season, I serve as VP of Project Management, managing ongoing projects and coordinating volunteers. I am also the reading class teacher for 2nd (now 3rd) grade. I organized a book drive and a group to volunteer at the SF Marin Food Bank (food pantry). Some of my hobbies are volunteering, leadership, and going outdoors.

I look forward to working with all the officers and you to make this organization the best it can be.

Thomas Wang

Hi, my name is Thomas Wang and I am currently a sophomore at the Quarry Lane school. I have been teaching reading class for half a year now, as well as participating in other projects. Some of my hobbies include, soccer, chess and playing trumpet. 

 

Elissa Mickey

Hi, my name is Elissa Mickey and I am currently a freshman at Columbus High School. I have been a junior teacher at RISE for almost 3 years now with the reading program. My hobbies include reading, baking, and running.

Patrick Zhang

I’m Patrick Zhang, a sophomore at Quarry Lane School in Dublin. I have been a part of Rise and Shine since early 2022, and I am looking forward to exciting opportunities that lie ahead. Under RISE I have volunteered in projects, some include the Reading Club, Math Course, and English Tutoring program. As a sophomore, some of my main hobbies include playing basketball and robotics. I’m a part of both teams at my school. As the Project Manager of RISE, I aim to provide the public with educational opportunities and inspire others. 

Kailey Lin

Hi! My name is Kailey Lin and I’m a current sophomore at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. I am a Volunteer Coordinator at Rise and Shine. Some of the projects that I am a part of include being a 6th grade teacher for the Sunshine Reading Club, Soile Meaningful Teens, and the SF Marin Food Bank. Some of my hobbies include painting, volleyball, and tennis. I look forward to working with everyone!

Annie Zhang

I’m Annie Zhang, a freshman at Quarry Lane School in Dublin, currently serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for Rise and Shine Youth Leadership. Actively involved in projects such as “Adopt a Senior”, Bottle Drive for Charity, and the English Tutoring program. Outside of volunteering, I play volleyball and basketball for my school’s teams. Looking forward to a fantastic year with the Rise and Shine community!
 

ethan Cheng

My name is Ethan Cheng, I am currently attending 6th grade at The Quarry Lane School.  I have always been very passionate about servicing the less privileged kids around the world and been co-leading the shoebox & kids-against-hunger programs at Rise for the last few years.  I look forward to having more of you joining me in the efforts to change the world into a better place.
