Leland Chung - Executive President

Leland Chung

Hey! My name is Leland, and I’ll be serving as your Executive President this year. I’ve been with Rise for about 5 years now, and I look forward to grow the organization even further. I’ve volunteered for different projects such as the Reading Classes, Kids Against Hunger, Web Development and more recently, the Scratch Coding course. Rise has opened opportunities to not just myself, but for the greater good of the community, and I’m grateful to be part of this organization. I look forward to working with everyone this year.
 
Brianna Huang - Co-President

Brianna Huang

Hi everyone! My name is Brianna Huang and I am super excited to be one of your Co-Presidents for 2024-2025. I have been part of RISE for around 4 years and have held an officer position for 3 of those years. I have participated and led many projects, including the Shoebox project, Kids Against Hunger, the RISE Music Group, the Bottle Drive, and many more. Additionally, I have been a reading group teacher for elementary schoolers since RISE was founded. As a junior at Dublin High, I enjoy baking, reading, and playing cello in my free time. I hope to work hard to improve RISE and help the community even more than last year! I love working hard with all RISE members for our community.

Angela Zhao - Co-President

My name is Angela Zhao and I’ve been with RISE for four years. I have hosted and participated in multiple RISE events, including the reading club, bottle drive, and Adopt A Senior. I am currently a sophomore at Amador Valley High School. In my free time, I enjoy drawing and hanging out with friends.

Patrick Zhang - Executive Vice President

My name is Patrick Zhang, and I am a Junior at the Quarry Lane School.  I currently serve as the Executive Vice President of Rise and Shine, having previously held the position of Project Manager.  I have been actively involved in various projects, including English tutoring programs, the RISE Reading Club,  Christmas Greeting Cards for seniors,  Adopt a Senior, Bottle Drive for Charity, Kids Against Hunger, and the Alameda County Fair. Additionally,  I have taught English reading classes for 1st and 5th graders and math courses for 3rd-grade students. My hobbies include playing basketball, biking, building robotics, and coding. As Executive VP, I am dedicated to advancing, implementing, and expanding volunteer activities within the Rise and Shine community to ensure our positive impact continues to grow.

Kailey Lin - VP of Fundraising

Hi my name is Kailey Lin and I was elected as the Vice President for Charity. I’m currently a rising junior at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. I have been a part of Rise and Shine for two years and some of the projects that I am involved in are the seventh grade reading club, plastic bottle drive and the SF Marin food bank events. Some of my other hobbies include tennis, volleyball and painting. I’m looking forward to working with everyone next year.

Elvin Zhong - VP of Project Management

Hello everyone! My name is Elvin, and I am a rising sophomore at Summit Shasta High School. During the 2024-2025 Rise and Shine season, I will return to serve as VP of Project Management, managing ongoing projects and coordinating volunteers. I am also the reading class teacher for 4th grade. Over the past year some key projects I have worked on with Kailey are the Food Bank Project (12 Groups!) and raising over $200 through the Bottle Drive project. In addition to these things, I organized a book drive during the pandemic and volunteered as a math teacher for the first half of 2024. Some of my hobbies are community service, public transit, and learning new languages. I look forward to working with all the officers and you to make this organization the best it can be.
Thomas Wang - VP of Operations

Hello, my name is Thomas. I am currently 16 years old and will be a rising junior. I have a wide range of hobbies, including chess, soccer, and robotics. Over the past two years, I have been a member of Rise, where I have participated in various projects and activities that have helped me develop my skills and interests.

Annie Zhang - VP of Membership

I’m Annie Zhang, a sophomore at the Quarry Lane School. I currently serve as the Vice President of Membership at Rise and Shine, having previously held the position of Volunteer Coordinator. I have actively participated in several projects, including English tutoring programs, Christmas Greeting Cards for seniors,  Adopt a Senior, Bottle Drive for Charity, Kids Against Hunger, and the Alameda County Fair. Outside of volunteering, I play volleyball and basketball for my school’s teams. I look forward to making a meaningful impact on the Rise and Shine community.
Mason Lu - VP of Project Coordination

Mason Lu

Hi, My name is Mason Lu and I am the VP of Project Coordination. I am currently a senior at Mountain House High School and I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had throughout my life. I am a current member of Rise and Shine Youth Leadership with many hours providing help with the reading club, bottle drive, Kids-Against Hunger, and many more! I also volunteer outside of Rise by going to Stanford Health Care once a week and help as much as I can there. As a senior I want to pursue my education further more into the medical field more precisely as an Anesthesiologist. I also have tons of hobbies such as going out with friends, playing sports (football and basketball), cars, and I absolutely love music, can’t go anywhere without music. I am so grateful to be a part of this program and I look forward to working with everyone!

Ethan Cheng - Project Manager

My name is Ethan Cheng, I am currently a rising 7th grader at The Quarrylane School.  I have always been very passionate about servicing the less privileged kids around the world and been co-leading the shoebox & kids-against-hunger programs at Rise for the last few years.  I look forward to having more of you joining me in the efforts to change the world into a better place.

Caden Huang - Event Coordinator

Hello! My name is Caden Huang, and I am a freshman at Dublin High School. My hobbies include swimming, reading, and music. I have been in RISE for 3 years participated in many events, such as Kids Against Hunger, reading group, music group, bottle drive, and ShoeBox. As the Event Coordinator, I aim to give everyone a flawless experience and make it easy for people to participate in events and enjoy giving back to the community.
