Scratch Coding Course
As society continues to modernize, coding and computer science become vital skills that can be useful for all students to learn. To introduce a younger audience to computer programming, Scratch is a visual programming language with a simple interface that allows its users to create digital stories, games, and animations. Scratch promotes computational thinking and problem-solving skills; creative teaching and learning; and self-expression and collaboration.
Summer 2023 Session:
In this 3-week (6 session) course, we introduced elementary-middle school students to Scratch, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the interface and create animations, stories, and games of their own. Students met with 1 or 2 instructors each week, creating their own projects as each session went by. By the beginning of the next session, they were able to showcase their designs to the rest of the class. New projects were introduced each session (Animating Names, Creating Mazes, and more!)
All tuition fees received were donated to charitable causes.

January 2024 Session:
With positive feedback from our previous Scratch Coding Course, the junior teachers decided to open up a new session during Winter Break. While entailing a shorter course with fewer, but similar projects, the sessions were still successful, introducing new children to the visual programming language of Scratch! We are so excited to have been able to create a meaningful impact with our own passions. Examples of student work are shown below.
Tuition fees will be donated to charitable causes 🙂
